Some cities consider letting 16-year-olds vote

When D.C. Councilmember Charles Allen was approached in late September about letting 16- and 17-year-olds vote, his first response was: “Why would I do this?”

Then he considered how 16-year-olds can drive, hold a job, file income taxes and testify in court, and he asked a different question: “Why not?”
