As it happens, I agree with the president that the idea of posing a religious test for refugees is ludicrous.

But Obama’s outright dismissal of the larger issue Jeb Bush failed so miserably to articulate — that a genuine threat is posed by a flood of refugees that might contain an infinitesimally small number of extraordinarily dangerous people capable of Paris-like acts in the United States — means he’s just as unserious, if not more so.

What the hell is the matter with these people?
