Ben Carson's insulting dodge: Attacking the media in the face of legitimate biographical questions

In previous cycles, Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were all put through the ringer to explain decades-old events.

But we’re supposed to think “poor Ben Carson”? A man with no legislative record to examine, and no experience in government to judge him by insists the only record we have — his personal story — is above reproach.

Some of this is unsurprising. Time and again it seems Carson’s overweening ego is the only source material for his political worldview.

But for his conservative, largely evangelical supporters to accept this stonewalling, simply because he stood five feet from President Obama at a National Prayer Breakfast and told him off, is the height of blind apologism.
