It’s clear we may have overestimated his anger-management skills,” Kelly said. “It is not as though I didn’t anticipate that he might not like that question because he had already made clear that he didn’t like to be tested in certain ways.”

Kelly went on to say that she didn’t single Trump out, arguing that she asked the other candidates tough questions, and that she must, as a journalist, ask questions on electability and see how the frontrunner would respond to critics.

“That’s what I get paid to do: anticipate the candidates’ weaknesses and poke them,” Kelly said. “You don’t want to embarrass anyone with their weaknesses, but by the same token, these people want George Washington’s job.”
