Are "beer goggles" just a myth?

The experts found no connection between alcohol consumption and perceived attractiveness, suggesting there’s no such thing as ‘beer googles’.

Despite contracting their previous work, the team said their study is significant because of the unusual way the research was conducted – in the pub with real revellers, as opposed to in a laboratory.

They used a large sample size of 311 people, which they say is the largest sample size of any study in this research area.

And the team believes their findings are different to previous studies because real people visiting pubs chose the amount of alcohol they consumed, without any guidance.
