But there’s one point in particular that’s getting some attention today. Carter gets asked about race relations in the wake of unrest and crime spikes in places like Baltimore.
“The recent publicity about mistreatment of black people in the judicial and police realm,” he said, “has been a reminder that the dreams of the civil rights movement have not been realized. Many Americans still have racist tendencies or feelings of superiority to people of color.”
