It was actually quite embarrassing to learn that Osama bin Laden was reading my tome – and a few by my homey Noam Chomsky. It’s embarrassing because it’s clear that Osama was more well-read than our president of the time (though, in George Bush’s defense, there’s much to be learned from My Pet Goat).
I do love the idea of Seal Team Six bundling off a copy of The Best Democracy Money Can Buy and passing it off to some coven of CIA spooks at Langley. Off course, our intelligence agents would already know what’s in the book—some of them were my secret sources.
