Authors react to learning that Bin Laden read their work

Greg Palast, freelance journalist for the BBC and the Guardian.

It was actually quite embarrassing to learn that Osama bin Laden was reading my tome – and a few by my homey Noam Chomsky. I do love the idea of Seal Team Six bundling off a copy of The Best Democracy Money Can Buy and passing it off to some coven of CIA spooks at Langley. Off course, our intelligence agents would already know what’s in the book—some of them were my secret sources.

If you’re unfamiliar with my work, I should explain that I’m an investigative reporter.  It’s a profession banned in the USA after September 11, 2001—when journalists were replaced by Brian Williams and others wearing his hairdo.
