The SITE Intelligence Group said it had verified the video, which shows the man believed to be Coulibaly with a gun, wearing what appears to be combat gear and talking at length. However, there has been no official verification of the video from either the French or the American governments.

Questioned whether he has any link to the Charlie Hebdo killers, Cherif Kouachi and Said Kouachi, the man in the video says, “The brothers of our team were split into two groups. … I went out a bit against the police,” according to the Telegraph. “If we did things a bit together and a bit separately, it was to have more impact,” he added. In the video, he also pledges allegiance to the militant group formerly known as either ISIL or ISIS, BBC News reported.
