“I believe he should remain in leadership,” Love said on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” Scalise has been “absolutely wonderful to work with. He has been very helpful for me,” she said.

Scalise acknowledged last week that he appeared at a convention of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization when he was a state legislator. He condemned the group’s views, and an adviser said the congressman did not know at the time about its affiliation with racists.
“These groups are awful. And the last thing I want to do is give them any sort of publicity or credibility,” said Love, who was elected in November to succeed retiring Rep. Jim Matheson (D).
