What if Republicans win?

If Republicans win, then for about one month we’re all gonna party like it’s one second to midnight, 1999.

Then it’ll be time to knuckle down, but I’m not at ALL sure this stuff about “corporate welfare” is what we should be knuckling down ABOUT.

To accept that pejorative is to accept that corporations need to be taxed more, in a world in which we already tax ours more than just about anyone else. It also an admission that we’ve accepted the percentage of GDP consumed by our entitlements and our social welfare framework — and that we’re just desperately casting about for a way of funding them.
