Axelrod said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that if he was still an Obama adviser he would not have included the line in the president’s speech last week in which Obama said: “I’m not on the ballot this fall … but make no mistake, these policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.”

“It was a mistake,” Axelrod said.
