The Palestinian militant group Hamas is ready for a cease-fire with Israel following several days of heightened tensions and ahead of the funeral of a murdered Palestinian teenager, according to a report on Friday.

The BBC is reporting, citing an unnamed Hamas source, that Egyptian officials have come up with a plan that would see Hamas stop firing rockets into Israel in return for the latter promising to halt air strikes on the Gaza Strip. Israel has yet to comment, the report said.
