Marwan Qawasmeh and Amer Abu Aisha, both residents of Hebron, were last seen on the night of June 12, shortly before Naftali Frenkel and Gilad Shaar, both aged 16, and 19-year-old Eyal Yifrach went missing while hitchhiking.

Mr Qawasmeh, a 29-year-old barber, whose wife is eight months pregnant, was first arrested in 2004 for security violations, and since then has been arrested at least four more times. In an interrogation in 2010, he is said to have admitted working on behalf of Hamas’s military wing in the Hevron area.
