DNC edges past the RNC in February funding

The Democratic National Committee slightly outraised the Republican National Committee in February, but the RNC has about twice as much cash on hand as Republicans try to retake the Senate.

The DNC raised about $350,000 more than Republicans last month, pulling in $7.4 million in February. That brings its total amount raised in 2014 to a bit more than $14 million compared with the RNC’s $15 million, according to recent disclosures filed with the Federal Election Commission. Despite raising more in February, the DNC has about $3 million less in the bank and $15 million more debt than its Republican counterpart. The committees raise money for gubernatorial, congressional and presidential candidates.
