Snowden’s legal adviser says leaker would “love” to return to America

“I think he would love to be back in this country. He’s a patriotic American. He loves his homeland and would love to come back if the conditions were right,” said Jesselyn Radack, national security and human rights director at the Government Accountability Project and a top legal adviser to Mr. Snowden. Ms. Radack spoke on CBS‘ “Face the Nation” program on Sunday.

She added that, despite the assurance of the administration, Mr. Snowden would find that the legal deck has been stacked against him.

“The very fact he’s been charged under the espionage act shows that it would not be a fair trial. Those trials take place largely in secret,” she said.
Ms. Radack also said that Mr. Snowden “has concerns for his safety,” specifically referencing recent jokes by top American intelligence figures that he should be killed.
