Chris Matthews: Ann Coulter says things others can't because she doesn't have a job

“I think that’s why Ann Coulter, as offensive as she can be, plays that, because she says things – because she doesn’t have a job – that everybody else on the right is sympathetic to, but doesn’t want to say, but loves it when she says it.”

Newbusters points out that not only is Ann a best-selling author and columnist, but that Matthews’ other guest, Nia Malika Henderson, is also a columnist. Would Chris deem her unemployed as well?

The other point worth noting is that Chris is mocking the idea that there is some political correctness standard one must adhere to or face the consequences, and then is tacitly confirming that very thing by suggesting the only reason Coulter can say what she says is because she “doesn’t have a job.” He contradicts his own premise in his explanation of it. Maybe he’s the one that should be out of a job.
