NFL to meet with Indian tribe about "Redskins" name

But Redskins owner Dan Snyder remains adamant about keeping the name, and the issue isn’t on the agenda for meetings of team owners this week, the Associated Press reports.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league will discuss the Oneida Indian Nation’s “Change the Mascot” campaign with tribal leaders next month. The tribe says the name is a “dictionary-defined, offensive racial epithet,” and is demanding it be changed.
