"[H]is campaign wasn’t the best, but he would have been a really fine president"

Meanwhile, an unnamed former Romney adviser was quoted in The Miami Herald on Tuesday criticizing Jeb Bush’s reversal on a pathway to citizenship. In Bush’s new book on immigration, which is released Tuesday, the younger brother of the 43rd president says illegal immigrants in the U.S. should have a path only to legal status, not full citizenship.

“Where the hell was this Jeb Bush during the campaign?” the Romney adviser told the paper. “He spent all this time criticizing Romney, and it turns out he has basically the same position. So he wants people to go back to their country and apply for citizenship? Well, that’s self-deportation. We got creamed for talking about that. And now Jeb is saying the same thing.”
