Let me clarify what I told Politico about doubting the Ryan pick

The right choices will be difficult and will likely require sacrifice.

That’s why I believe Romney made the right choice in Ryan. For the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, and the nation. It elevates the race. And the battle of political ideas will be good for America.

We now have two very different competing visions of the future. And if voters are ready for the hard choices, Romney/Ryan is right for America.

But it will take more than a few good men and a few good women to handle the truth.

I hope America proves me wrong.
