Jeb Bush: I would consider a VP proposal very carefully

“If Romney were to offer me the job of vice president, I would consider the proposal very carefully,” Bush told the online news outlet, according to a Yahoo News translation. “But I don’t think he’ll pick me.”

Bush, the brother and son of former presidents and the governor of Florida from 1999 to 2007, has pushed back against suggestions that Romney will add him to the national ticket. He said in April that Romney should consider Florida Sen. Marco Rubio instead. Later that week, Rubio told CNN that Bush would “a fantastic vice president.”

“I hold Mitt in high regard,” Bush added in the Italian interview. “And it would be my duty to help him defeat Obama.”
