Bright idea: Steal a phone from a police officer inside a police station

A Chicago custodian was charged Friday with stealing a city police officer’s iPhone while inside the police station where she worked.

Epifania Bahena, 35, allegedly stole the iPhone around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The officer last saw the phone on a bench in a station locker room, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The phone was then tracked by the officer through its GPS system, recovered and Bahena was charged with misdemeanor theft, Fox Chicago reports.
