Great news: New Hampshire may hold primary in ... early December

Bill Gardner, who has set the date of New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary since 1976, issued a memo calling Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 (both Tuesdays) “realistic options” unless Nevada agrees to set its primary for Tuesday, Jan. 17 or later…

Gardner said that New Hampshire is unfairly squeezed by those dates, especially given his mandate under state law to set the primary at least a week before any contest that would undercut the state’s first-in-the-nation primary.

“If Nevada does not adjust its caucus date to a later time, I cannot rule out the possibility of a December primary,” Gardner wrote in his memo.
