Since the death of the terror leader, relations between the U.S. and Pakistan have been tense, though a 24-hour series of meetings between Senator Kerry and Pakistani officials seemed to make some progress in improving relations.

Some experts had warned that the tail of the chopper may contain sensitive military technology that could be reverse engineered in China or elsewhere, giving them quicker access to U.S. innovations.
