Bolton still hasn’t formed a political action committee or any kind of organization that could boost his presidential prospects. He remains just as resistant to answering specific questions about his immediate plans or how he could possibly have a path to the nomination as he was when he first started airing a possible candidacy months ago.
And the elevation of foreign policy crises on the national agenda doesn’t mean he’s taking his case to the early voting states — like virtually all of his potential rivals have long been doing. Indeed, his appearance here marks one of the only times he’s made a public appearance before rank-and-file Republicans.
“I don’t have a timeline,” he said. “There’s no coalescence at this point around any particular candidate.”
