“He’s reading his clips more and more. He’s becoming much more arrogant,” Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester, told The Star-Ledger’s editorial board. “Really, it’s worked for him, and it’s got him on the national scene where people are talking about president, so he’s gotten more brash.”…

Sweeney said he gives Christie “at least” a 50/50 chance of running for national office in 2012, and said

“I think that he’s not going to want to do something and lose, and right now I don’t think he thinks he can beat [Barack] Obama,” he said. “I think if he has a real clear shot and he thinks things are going that way, he absolutely runs. Otherwise he waits until 2016 when the field is clear.”
