The Lord is our hope – He is the source of our joy, even when things may not be exactly what we want at the moment. He is coming, and we will rejoice! I believe this; I claim it and trust in it. I will see again one day; my mom will be whole in her song. Augie will leap for joy, and all those who have lost loved ones will be reunited in a celebration that will be more than we can imagine!

Because we know this, we can bear knowing, too, that any day, or any visit, or any gathering, might be our last.

So, knowing that, let us decorate our homes, even if we’re a little depressed, even if we are fearful. Let us place lights around to remind us of the “light of the world,” and prepare all the things that make us joyful to welcome the newborn King.
