Asked during an interview Wednesday night with PBS’s Charlie Rose what Democrats could have done differently on health care, Hoyer said “I don’t know that I’ve learned a new lesson.”

Hoyer said the process confirmed his belief that Congress has to be transparent and “that’s why we’ve had more town [hall] meetings and citizen input on this bill than any bill I’ve seen in the 30 years I’ve been in Congress.”…
“Is there a relatively small group, particularly partisans, who have tried to inflame and incite the American public? I think that’s accurate,” he said.
But beyond that small group, Hoyer said, there is widespread support for health care reform.
