Congress -- where even the food is overpriced and poorly made

“What they charge for the food in any of the House office buildings is obscene,” said one staffer, who has resorted to making a lunch of random side dishes at $1.25 apiece. “Whenever I go to Longworth with my friends, we say, ‘Look at the lines.’ ‘Look at the prices.’ It’s like the worst throwback to your old high school cafeteria.”

Another aide said some of the House Value Meals are better than others.

“Some of them are delicious; others are pretty gnarly,” the aide said. “If they served the gyro meal every day, I would absolutely eat it every day. If they keep serving French dip, I will boycott.”

“Essentially, you get what you’d expect,” House aide Ken Willis said. “That said, I do not recommend the French dip sandwich value meal in Longworth. Let’s just say it sits a little heavy.”
