Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, a member of the Taliban’s high leadership council, and the other prisoners are “accused of criminal acts” in Afghanistan and will be extradited, according to a statement from the office of Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Pakistani officials did not immediately confirm the agreement described in the Afghan capital, Reuters reported…

“We asked the Pakistani authorities to hand over all Afghan prisoners that have been arrested by Pakistan, including Mullah Baradar,” Hamid Elmi, Karzai’s deputy spokesman, said in an interview. “They agreed, but they are working on the mechanisms, how to handle it, how it will happen.”
