Tiger Woods spoke of his deep-seated commitment to his family during a interview conducted just days before the car crash that exposed his infidelity.
The interview, screened in New Zealand today, had been scheduled for broadcast on Christmas Day but was brought forward after the world’s leading golfer announced that he would be taking an “indefinite break” from the sport last week amid blanket coverage of claims that he had extra-marital affairs with up to 13 women.

Asked in the interview if he had always put “family first and golf second?” Woods replied: “Always. Always.” Woods went on to say that having a family with his wife, Elin Nordegren, had been “the best thing that ever happened”.
