Barack Obama is expected to lead the bidding for a rare edition of the first ever Superman comic which is expected to fetch more than £100,000 pounds at auction.
President Obama is a collector of comics and is set to compete alongside comedian Jerry Seinfeld, basket-ball star Shaquille O’Neal and actor Nicolas Cage who named his son Kal-El, after Superman for the vintage issue.
Update: The above is how the original intro to the story read. Now they’ve rewritten it and added this part near the end. Super job, Telegraph:
“It had even been rumoured that Barack Obama might be tempted to enter the bidding, but that was denied by the auctioneers.
‘Although he is reportedly a fan of Spider-Man, and was recently featured in a highly publicized comic book published by Marvel, Barack Obama is not bidding in the ComicConnect auction,’ said a spokesman for the ComicConnect auction.”
