Ellensburg never attempts to reconcile that with his cheerleading for the Hagee story, even though (or precisely because) Obama is more closely tied to Wright than McCain has ever been to Hagee. In February, he was hoping that the press would cover this type of story. Now he rages against it – or against the realization that not only does he does not sway the media as he imagines he once did, but also that some other wacky preacher did get traction in the media.
