Border Czar Kamala Harris had an opportunity Wednesday to reset the entire election. She had the ability to take her place as the president of the Senate and preside over a major address by a foreign leader to a joint session of Congress and look presidential to millions of voters trying to decide whether or not she's up to the job.
As the antisemitic riots were taking place a block and a half from the Capitol, Border Czar Kamala Harris could have electrified the country by summoning up her own version of a Sister Souljah moment and denounce the violence, renounce the Jew hatred in her Democratic base, and ask the country to rally around common values.
Border Czar Kamala Harris didn't do any of that. She demonstrated that her political instincts are exactly where they were in 2019 when she dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary weeks before the Iowa Caucus started doling out delegates - completely tone deaf.
As an afterthought, a private meeting between Border Czar Harris and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been scheduled at the White House later today, but at least the Border Czar Harris campaign won't have to worry about a lot of video leaking out of her standing behind Bibi and applauding. Any imagery that comes out of that meeting will be greatly sanitize for her electoral protection.
The optics all around Washington, D.C. Wednesday were absolutely horrible for the Democratic Party. As Bibi was walking down the aisle to the well of the House to give what turned out to be an absolute baller of a speech, he passed right by Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer. Keep in mind, Schumer is Jewish. But that's secondary these days to his political ideology and desire to stay on the right side of his growing antisemitic base. Schumer would not even give the courtesy of shaking the hand of the leader of America's most strategic ally in the Middle East.

But at least Schumer was there. He showed up. Border Czar Harris fled town. She chose not to be there. Why? So she can beg for the vote of the Zeta Phi Beta sorority convention, a vote that she should already be able to bank. Here's her key pitch.
Running a national campaign on restoring abortion rights might seem like the way to go, but most of the country is just not with her on that. There are a whole host of fires burning here and around the world that people care about more than restoring abortion on demand up to the point of delivery. Her base might be wanting to only talk about abortion, but she's theoretically, at least, supposed to be past the point of having to shore up her own voters. She's supposed to be running to the center to win independents for the general election. This speech wasn't that.
On CNN with Kaitlan Collins Wednesday night, one of her former colleagues in the Senate, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, was given an absolute softball by Collins - what's Kamala's biggest accomplishment as vice president. Here's the Chief's answer.
Three and a half years in, and Border Czar Kamala Harris' biggest accomplishment is a visit to an abortion clinic? Nothing screams forward-looking, soaring rhetoric than exalting places of business that specialize in preventing the next generation of Americans from being born.
So while Border Czar Harris was busy promoting the future by celebrating the culling of the herd, this is the message from Prime Minister Netanyahu she was keen to avoid.
He was criticized immediately by a lot of people on the left, most notably former Speaker and current shadow Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s presentation in the House Chamber today was by far the worst presentation of any foreign dignitary invited and honored with the privilege of addressing the Congress of the United States.
— Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) July 24, 2024
Many of us who love Israel spent time today listening to Israeli…
Nancy Pelosi actually only has one love, and it's not for Israel. It's not for her family, her country, or for her colleagues. Pelosi's love is political power. We certainly saw that on display in the coup of President Joe Biden. Everything else flows from that love of power down into different 'like' categories.
Also joining in the criticism while the speech was underway was Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy, who tweeted this out.
very curious that @chrismurphyct seems to have deleted this post. Why, oh, why, would he have deleted this? pic.twitter.com/BP5zRdcunz

Meanwhile, a block away at Union Station, this happened.
This morning my colleagues and I introduced a bill to deport any foreigner involved in violence and vandalism on federal property.

The actions of the pro-Hamas lunatics at Union Station in DC are shameful, and anyone on a visa who took part should have it revoked immediately. pic.twitter.com/A0I2FVmeh8
I just took this picture from my Senate office.

Less than a mile from the U.S. Capitol, pro-Hamas protestors have taken down and burned AMERICAN FLAGS at Union Station to fly Palestinian flags.
Absolutely SHAMEFUL. pic.twitter.com/jwfZHlb9xZ

Hamas is comin'. The ISIS black flag. Final solution. And Chris Murphy got offended that Benjamin Netanyahu called this out as Hamas sympathizers. Murhpy has since deleted that tweet, replaced it with this.
I’ve seen some disturbing images coming out of today’s protests at the Capitol. I’ll always support Americans exercising their First Amendment rights but pro-Hamas cheers and messages of hate and antisemitism have no place in our country. Period.
— Chris Murphy 🟧 (@ChrisMurphyCT) July 25, 2024
Life comes at you hard, Senator. I'm glad you consider this disturbing. I seem to recall you showing a tad more emotion in your rhetoric after January 6th, but I must be misremembering that. I'll have to rely on Time, Newsweek, Politico, Axios, and the Washington Post to help me remember 2021. They are doing a kick-ass job of that with regards to Border Czar Harris' portfolio while serving as vice president.
Border Czar Harris, of course, has been radio silent on this. If her recent past is prologue, her response would have been to claim all of these protesters, including the one perpetrating blood libels and burning hanging effigies of Jews, are entitled to their truth, and they must be listened to.
She's not going to get in the way of these young people spray-painting 'Hamas is comin' from expressing themselves...like this.

Here's the thing. Border Czar Kamala Harris is actually pretty unpopular with the progressive left, especially the antisemitic wing, because they don't trust her. Part of what led to her political demise as a presidential contender in the 2020 Democratic primary process was that she was perceived to be too pro-Israel. When the political winds began to shift against Israel, coinciding with the rise of the Squad in Congress, Border Czar Harris began to reverse herself. So far, no one in the Democratic base seems to believe her sincerity. She has become increasingly anti-Israel in her rhetoric as vice president, and yet she still gets heckled and protested wherever she goes.
A few months ago, Border Czar Harris showed up in Los Angeles for a taping of the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. It was supposed to be a cream puff interview to make her look good. What you didn't see was what happened during the taping that didn't make it to air.
The task facing Border Czar Harris is that she has to convince the far left that she's progressive enough, convince the suburban women that she's normal enough, and convince Rust Belt and Southern Blacks that she's Black enough, and convince the country that she wasn't lying about Joe Biden being mentally fit to be president, and she has to do that in three months. That's a big lift for a candidate with remarkable retail political skills and instincts. Border Czar Harris possesses neither. She has cash, and she has ambition. That might be enough to wrestle back a swing state or two, but that's doubtful. And it doesn't separate her from the hip with this guy that refuses to go away.
Spare me the talking points that Border Czar Harris' husband is Jewish. Her step-daughter has been fundraising for UNRWA, the United National Relief and Works Agency, caught dead to rights this year operating as a shell corporation for Hamas operatives in Gaza. Family cuts both ways for her on Israel.
With regard to Border Czar Harris' possible vice presidential pick, in the last 24 hours, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro's stock has reportedly risen a bit, along with Arizona Senator Mark Kelly's. Shapiro would be her best possible selection if she wanted to win a general election. Considering the mentality of today's Democratic party, it would even be a courageous pick, even though it shouldn't be. But it would force her to confront an incredibly hostile segment of her base at a time when she cannot afford to have that fight, time that is in short supply for her. And besides, courage has never been a trait attributed to her with any seriousness.
