Team Obama and the Democrats seemed pretty pleased with their impressive $181 million fundraising total for the month of September, and particularly proud that 98 percent of their campaign donations were raised through smaller donations of $250 or less. The Romney campaign released their own September fundraising totals in an e-mail this afternoon, and it looks like they’re not doing too shabbily themselves:

With only three weeks left to go, both camps will surely be burning through their cash stores with down-to-the-wire ad blitzes and campaigning, so get excited for that. Romney blowing Obama out of the water during the first presidential debate at the start of October certainly won’t be a detriment to any last-minute fundraising efforts for the month and will probably prove to have been a catalyst for any unsure potential donors to get crackin’, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the money just keeps on rolling in — especially if Romney can deliver another knockout performance this Tuesday night in New York.
Addendum — Yep:
In Sep Romney raised $170mil. 1st 2 weeks of Oct, raised over $27mil online in low $’s alone- better than any MONTH so far.
