First of all, as flabbergasting as it is in my mind, it looks like they really are running with this whole “offshore bank account” meme — but remember, they’re not class-warmongers. Forget that storing your money overseas can be a perfectly legal process that is undertaken by many of the country’s wealthy; this is once again about Team Obama blaming the symptoms instead of the disease. For goodness’ sake, don’t criticize the businessman for taking the available avenues to shelter his hard-earned money from the ravages of the tax code, as “unpatriotic” as you may deem it to be — blame America’s uncompetitive and restrictive tax code that makes it worthwhile for them to do so.

Secondly, how shall I parry Axelrod’s claim that Romney “believes in keeping the public in the dark”? Decisions, decisions. Shall we talk about the pathetically meager vetting to which the mainstream media treated their darling Candidate Obama in 2008? Or about the many lobbyists regularly making behind-closed-doors visits to The Most Transparent Administration Evah, despite Obama’s pledge to end business-as-usual? Oh no, wait — I’ve got it.

By David Axelrod’s “If you don’t have anything to hide, why not just release the information?”-logic, President Obama’s invocation of executive privilege in an attempt to shield AG Eric Holder from being held in contempt of Congress and having to turn over thousands of Fast & Furious-related documents, must mean that something nefarious is going on there, right? What, exactly, are President Obama and the Justice Department so keen to hide?
