The press is justifiably getting blame as well. Tapper and Thompson provided tougher coverage of Biden’s age and abilities than most D.C. reporters did, although each has admitted that in retrospect, they should have pressed the issue more. But the main failing of the press was not its failure to get the inside story.
The authors state that when Democrats released the transcript of special counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Biden, it showed that Biden’s claims about the interview had been false. Most reports about it didn’t mention that, Tapper and Thompson note. The information was in front of journalists’ noses. The press is taking a lasting hit because it missed the outside story.
Ed: It didn't "miss" anything. The Protection Racket Media deliberately chose to ignore it, and in many cases attacked anyone who tried to cover or raise it.

Again, only after it matters, Tapper tells the truth.

As the recriminations fly over the long-running White House operation to cover up Joe Biden’s decline, let’s spare a thought for former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
She was the front person for this conspiracy against the public interest.
It’s true that she wasn’t the instigator of the deception or a major power player, but someone had to go out and deflect and deceive every day, and that job fell to KJP.
Ed: Seth Liebsohn also mentioned KJP to me while I was doing the last hour of his show today in Phoenix. KJP has fallen off the face of the earth; even MSNBC doesn't appear interested in her thoughts these days. Jean-Pierre was a terrible press secretary anyway, but even Jen Psaki got a gig out of it. I'd be surprised to see KJP in a significant public role ever again after this.

I mean, this is beyond parody. NYT webpage just now. pic.twitter.com/xbby4KNjZC

Ed: Yeah, this is a real column in today's NYT. I had to double-check it. To be fair, the headline misstates the premise somewhat; it's more of a question as to how the lab-leak reality would have impacted pandemic policy and foreign policy. It assumes, bizarrely, that the policies we adopted in both of those aspects were mainly beneficial.

To Okimura, a substitute K-12 teacher in Honolulu, and a growing number of progressive young Americans, Biden will not be remembered as one of the longest serving civil servants in history but as a war criminal. In these circles he is referred to as “Genocide Joe” because he insisted that Israel “has the right to defend itself” after it was invaded by Hamas on October 7, 2023, and supported selling the American ally arms. When news broke that the 82-year-old Biden had an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer, political leaders on both sides of the aisle flooded social media with well wishes, but Okimura and her far-left peers expressed a different sentiment: schadenfreude.
“I’m expected to feel sad for this monster?” Okimura asked in a video uploaded to TikTok, where she boasts more than 190,000 followers. “Meanwhile, what about the Palestinians in Gaza with prostate cancer?”
Ed: Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Left for you! But wait -- there's more!

“Joe Biden is a war criminal who personally sanctioned the genocide of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, including countless cancer patients,” Lorenz ranted on Tuesday.
She went on to claim that “Biden is responsible for at least nearly 1 million deaths from COVID and kicked millions, including cancer patients, off healthcare amidst a raging pandemic. He forced people back to work with no labor protections.”
“My sympathies will always lie with the innocent people Biden has killed and disabled, not the genocidal warmonger sanctioning their deaths,” she added.
Ed: Say, remember when the Washington Post laid off more than a hundred reporters but kept Lorenz on the payroll? Good times, good times ... Anyway, bookmark these for use when Lefties demand that Biden's conservative critics lay off after the Bidens revealed his cancer diagnosis.

Ed: I read news reports starting on Saturday that Muhammed Sinwar had been killed. The Israelis usually wait for confirmation before discussing these achievements; the US has not always been as fastidious. If Netanyahu's suggesting that he's dead, then the IDF must be pretty sure.

The FTC is finally investigating the medical deception that stole my childhood.
— Chloe Cole ⭐️ (@ChoooCole) May 21, 2025
This is a major step forward and it’s just the beginning. Children deserve protection, not profit-driven lies. The Trump Administration is moving so fast!
Watch my response: pic.twitter.com/zowSyCZwfR
Ed: Good. Chloe Cole is a courageous advocate against the mutilation of children via "transgender therapies," having been victimized by the industry herself.

COVERUP: The Biden campaign blew millions setting up a closed-door town hall, only to scrap it because he was too incoherent to perform. And yet, not a single member of his re-election team leaked a word. pic.twitter.com/3zszPnhopz
