"Missing" Biden whistleblower: I may be on the run the rest of my life for blowing the lid off Biden Inc

Or at least through January 2025. Gal Luft, the noted “missing” witness in the House probe of corruption related to the Biden family, has emerged in a video recording to get his argument out to the public. The former Israeli army officer claims that his legal problems in Cyprus was part of an intentional plot to stop him from testifying before House Oversight as to the Bidens’ connections to China, and especially to CEFC, an alleged front for Beijing’s intelligence services.

It would have been 2016 all over again, Luft promises, but this time for real:

The “missing witness” from the Biden corruption investigation, Israeli professor Dr. Gal Luft, has laid out his bribery allegations against the president’s family in an extraordinary video filmed in an undisclosed location while he’s on the run.

In the 14-minute recording, obtained exclusively by The Post, the fugitive former Israeli army officer claims he was arrested in Cyprus to stop him from testifying to the House Oversight Committee that the Biden family received payments from individuals with alleged ties to Chinese military intelligence and that they had an FBI mole who shared classified information with their benefactors from the China-controlled energy company CEFC.

The self-proclaimed fall guy says he provided the incriminating evidence to six officials from the FBI and the Department of Justice in a secret meeting in Brussels in March 2019 — but alleges that it was covered up.

Luft questions the timing of his indictment, which kicked off his arrest and the fight over extradition that he eventually fled:

“Why did the DOJ choose to unseal the indictment on Nov. 1, 2022, the very same week of the midterm elections?” he asks.

“Could this have anything to do with the fear that once Republicans gain control over Congress and begin to investigate, [the DOJ] cover-up would be on full display?”

Ten years ago, this claim would have received widespread ridicule. After all of the political games played at the DoJ in the intervening period, it’s impossible to entirely scoff at Luft’s allegation. Skepticism is warranted, but in both directions — and perhaps equally so.

But as long as we’re remaining skeptical, let us also recall what was happening at the DoJ in the weeks preceding the unsealing of the indictment against Luft. On October 7, 2022, David Weiss met with Gary Shapley and other IRS investigators to tell them that he would not indict Hunter Biden on any felony charges because other US Attorneys refused to cooperate with any such indictment. Merrick Garland had told Congress that Weiss had plenary charging authority, a claim he made again two weeks ago — only to have Weiss tell Congress that he didn’t have such authority but could have asked for it at any time.

Is it really just a coincidence that the same DoJ unsealed an indictment against Luft less than four weeks after refusing to proceed in felony prosecution of Hunter Biden? Perhaps, if one is inclined to believe in coincidences. It does seem rather strange that the DoJ was so eager to bury potential corruption issues with the Bidens, but chased after Luft over a FARA violation — when he was cooperating with them on the probe of the Biden family contacts with CEFC, a known front for Chinese intelligence.

Luft claims he briefed six DoJ officials in a March 2019 meeting in Brussels about the Bidens’ connections to CEFC. Those included four FBI agents, including Joshua Wilson, who later signed a subpoena that allowed the FBI to collect Hunter’s laptop from the repair shop. Two DoJ prosecutors came to the meeting as well, Daniel Richenthal and Catherine Ghosh, both out of the Southern District of New York.

What did Luft tell them? In his video, he explains that he witnessed Joe Biden participate in a 2017 meeting with Hunter and CEFC officials, a claim later corroborated by testimony from Biden associate Rob Walker to Congress. And that’s not all:

Luft disclosed during the Brussels interview that CEFC was paying $100,000 a month to Hunter and $65,000 to his uncle Jim Biden, in exchange for their FBI connections and use of the Biden name to promote China’s Belt and Road Initiative around the world — and that the money was being funneled through Walker.

The Oversight Committee has written to Walker demanding he submit to questioning about his role in distributing more than $1 million from China to at least three of President Biden’s relatives. …

“Over an intensive two-day meeting, I shared my information about the Biden family’s financial transactions with CEFC, including specific dollar figures. I also provided the name of Rob Walker, who later became known as Hunter Biden’s bagman.”

He also told the DOJ and the FBI in Brussels that Hunter had an FBI mole named “One Eye” who had tipped off his CEFC associates, Dr. Patrick Ho and Chairman Ye Jianming, that they were under investigation.

That meeting took place in March 2019. Luft claims that he expected to have more discussions with the FBI about these issues, especially after the laptop got exposed, but never heard from the DoJ again. Instead, just at the same time that the DoJ was refusing to file felony charges against Hunter, the DoJ unsealed an indictment against Luft for arms trafficking and failing to register as a foreign agent, charges which Luft denies.

Again, we’re only getting Luft’s side of the story, but we’re lucky to be getting that much at all. He could be lying as a way to get out of a legitimate prosecution, too. But the manner in which the DoJ appears to have operated in October and November 2022 makes it look like someone didn’t want to have any loose ends when they cut a sweetheart deal for Hunter Biden.

Read all of Miranda Devine’s column, as Luft has plenty more to say. Thanks to the New York Post, you can also watch Luft tell the story himself. Perhaps one day he’ll get a chance to tell the story to the House Oversight Committee directly.
