“Defund the Police” turns out to be more popular than some might think — among people who have good reason to get rid of law enforcement agencies. Today’s release from Project Veritas’ ongoing series on Antifa might more accurately called Antifa-associated, as this group calls itself Redneck Revolt. The leftist revolutionary group in North Carolina has a long track record of starting trouble, and they have adopted Antifa’s tactics as well as its agenda.
Their support for #DefundthePolice is more generic and broad, however, in the tradition of all anarchists and nihilists. Some extremists just want to watch the world burn:
“And they believe in total abolition of everything, including the police, you know, Charlottesville was comprised of your typical Antifa black block measures…There were multiple chapters of Redneck Revolt that went to Charlottesville and acted as the militia wing of the anti-fascist movement.”
This got shot in 2018, so it has little to do with the current “defund” movement. Except, of course, in how it could benefit Redneck Revolt and other groups loosely affiliated under the Antifa banner. Kayleigh McEnany’s warning yesterday about what would happen of police departments get dismantled sounds like a description of a successful Antifa/Redneck Revolt operation, doesn’t it?

We don’t have police around just to control traffic and collect fines. We have police to keep peace on the streets and provide a relatively safe environment for commerce, private property, and the rights of the citizenry. It’s therefore no surprise that those who would oppose commerce and private property — not to mention the rights of the citizenry — would be big fans of getting rid of police departments. Once they’re gone, the streets would be controlled by those who use violence to impose their will, and everything else collapses under the weight of that anarchy and violence.
At least Redneck Revolt understands the consequences of getting rid of the police. What excuse do Democrats have?
