Going Red: Publication day!

Six months of travel and research. Another six months of editing, review, and the grind of the publication process. Three weeks of audio recording. Fifty thousand words. And today is the day — Publication Day for Going Red: The Two Million Voters Who Will Elect the Next President — and How Conservatives Can Win Them. Published by Crown Forum, Going Red takes readers inside the swing-state battlegrounds and especially their key counties that will decide the election, weaving together data and the stories of people and leaders in these communities to answer the most pressing questions facing conservatives in 2016. I conducted more than a hundred interviews with voters, activists, local party officials, and elected office-holders from state representative to governor and Congressman. It uses data as a framework but at its core tells the stories of these communities, and with them the story of the Republican failures of 2008 and 2012 — and most importantly, lays out a path for victory.

If you missed it Saturday, here’s the audio excerpt from Penguin Randomhouse of the very beginning of the book. The introduction into Going Red takes us back to Election Night 2012, when most of the Right came in for a rude shock. It starts where my tour starts — in the studios of Hugh Hewitt, where a number of us tried to make sense of the debacle:

Today I also kick off a multi-week book tour for Going Red. I’ll make the following appearances today, all times Eastern:

  • 6-7 am ET: Hugh Hewitt
  • 8:30 am: MSNBC’s Morning Joe
  • 9:30 am: John Cardillo Show
  • 1 pm: Fox Business’ Tom Sullivan Show
  • PENDING: Possible Hannity segment on Fox tonight

I’ll have more tomorrow, and keep checking back on this post today as we are still adding appearances. I will be in Washington DC on Thursday and Friday for more interviews and a Heritage Foundation event too. We will also try to post the clips of the interviews and events as they come up.
