Thursday TEMS: Duane Patterson, Kyle Smith, Eli Lake

Today on The Ed Morrissey Show (4 pm ET), we have another great lineup for the news of the day!

  • Duane “Generalissimo” Patterson brings us up to date on the week’s top stories and gives us a preview of tonight’s Hugh Hewitt show.
  • New York Post film critic Kyle Smith set off a Twitter storm by writing a column arguing that “women don’t get Goodfellas.” Outraged readers wanted Kyle to dance that away like Spider dodging Tommy’s bullets, but so far Kyle’s telling them to go get their shinebox. We’ll ask Kyle about the controversy, and see whether he’s just busting balls.
  • Bloomberg’s Eli Lake joins us to discuss his excellent profile on Sheik Ahmad Abu-Risha al-Rishawi, and why an Anbar Awakening strategy without a large American footprint is unlikely to succeed.

Want to get away in December? Join me at Bullets & Bourbon, a great retreat weekend to celebrate our Second Amendment rights. Bullets & Bourbon is a four day program on the Second Amendment at a luxurious hunting and shooting lodge outside of Dallas featuring new media superstars Glenn Reynolds, Dana Loesch, Ed Morrissey and several other noted speakers. It’s the first event by start-up company Full Digital Jacket, LLC. It’s a great way to meet and interact with your favorite New Media stars. And, well … me too.
