Thursday TEMS: Duane Patterson, Joel Pollak on Charlie Hebdo massacre

Today on The Ed Morrissey Show (4 pm ET), we have one topic — the massacre of the staff at Charlie Hebdo in Paris. There is so much to unpack, and Duane and I will discuss it at length:

  • Duane “Generalissimo” Patterson brings us exclusive clips of Mark Steyn’s remarks, which will air later this afternoon on the Hugh Hewitt show.
  • We will also hear a portion of the heated debate between Hugh and Bill Donahue of the Catholic League, whose statement yesterday drew widespread condemnation.
  • Breitbart’s Joel Pollak will return to discuss his alternate take on solidarity with Charlie Hebdo, and the life experience that provides him with more nuance on the issue.
  • Originally, we scheduled Ralph Benko to discuss a new venture he has with my good friend Elizabeth Thompson called Auntie Sam — a humorous but pointed look at the nanny state.Auntie Sam is about Uncle Sam turning into an interfering old busybody who feels she needs to keep an eye on everyone and their brother for his/her own good. Next week I’ll be on vacation, but we will have Ralph and/or Elizabeth on as soon as I return to show off this fun new effort. With the news today, this would not be a fair show in which to feature it. Ralph and Elizabeth have been understanding enough to wait.
