Barack Obama wants people to know that his golf habit isn’t his fault.  He has nowhere else to go in his apparently copious free time:

He spends so much time unwinding on the links because security restrictions mean he can’t go out for long walks or go to the carwash or the grocery store. …

“It’s the only excuse I have to get outside for four hours at a stretch,” he said.

I’ve been to the carwash and the grocery store.  They’re overrated experiences, believe me.  But if Obama wanted to get some walking time, why not go to Camp David?  Visit a military base and meet some of the troops?  Take the kids to a national park?  As excuses to get to the links go, “you all make me golf” doesn’t quite cut it.
