“We still would have lost the election because we had 9.5% unemployment. Let’s take it where that came from. The policies of George W. Bush and the Republican support for his initiatives, tax cuts are for the wealth, recklessness by some,” Minority Leader Pelosi told CNN.

“Recklessness by some”?  Well, that’s accurate, at least.  When Democrats spent nine months totally focused on an issue that few thought was a top priority and then pushed a policy that was so unpopular that it created a nationwide grassroots political movement all on its own, yes, it could be called reckless.  But it wasn’t George Bush who told Pelosi to do it, nor Bush who told House Democrats to keep her in a position of leadership after badly botching their turn in power.

Let’s also not forget that it was Nancy Pelosi who pushed through the Porkulus package, locking Republicans out of the process of writing it while promising it would stop unemployment from going above 8%.  Did Bush make her do that, too?  Or was it another President?
