I’m in the middle of reading Decision Points, the memoir by George W. Bush that covers his entire life but focuses mainly on his presidency. I’m about a third of the way through the book and plan on writing a review when I finish, but at least at this point it’s clear that Bush wrote the book in large part to take responsibility for his choices and their consequences. There hasn’t been any fingerpointing, neither at subordinates nor at predecessors, for the big decisions Bush makes and the results that followed. He expresses frustration at the failures in office and poor execution in some cases, but at least thus far, Bush puts the onus on himself.
Michael Ramirez of Investors Business Daily puts his Pulitzer Prize-winning talent to work in pointing out the contrast between Bush and his successor in today’s editorial cartoon:
IBD announced today that they have a new iPad application, called eIBD (a free app, but IBD subscription required):
Investor’s Business Daily, Inc. launched eIBD for iPad today, making it easier for investors to find the best winning stocks without being tied to their desks. This app provides anytime access to the exclusive stock lists, ratings and analysis found in eIBD, the award-winning digital edition of Investor’s Business Daily®.
“Investor’s Business Daily is excited to bring its award-winning interactive digital edition to the iPad,” said Harlan Ratzky, Vice President of Investors.com. “This custom-designed format includes all of the same content as the print edition, plus has powerful interactive tools and features that help investors identify the strongest stocks quickly and easily.”
While reading eIBD for iPad, users can also access the interactive tools on IBD’s website, Investors.com. With a single tap, investors can evaluate new stock ideas and check the health of their current portfolio using IBD Stock Checkup™ and IBD® Charts, as well as view the latest market updates and stock analysis videos from IBD® TV.
Be sure to check it out; I’ll be adding it to my iPad momentarily. Also, be sure to check out Ramirez’ terrific collection of his works: Everyone Has the Right to My Opinion, which covers the entire breadth of Ramirez’ career, and it gives fascinating look at political history. Read my review here, and watch my interviews with Ramirez here and here. And don’t forget to check out the entire Investors.com site, which has now incorporated all of the former IBD Editorials, while individual investors still exist.
