The most effective part of the NRSC’s latest web video may be in the first five seconds. As Barack Obama lands in Chicago to headline a fundraiser for the flailing Senate campaign of Alexi Giannoulias, the NRSC wants to remind Illinois voters of how clear Obama wanted to be about bankers running for the upper chamber:
So let’s get this straight. Obama wanted to be clear that “bankers don’t need another vote in the United States Senate” — unless that vote gets cast by a banker who made loans to Mob figures, whose family took tens of millions out of the bank and then left taxpayers on the hook for its collapse? Is that clear enough for Illinois voters?
The rest of the ad is on target, but perhaps merely a series of evidentiary supports to highlight Obama’s hypocrisy. Oh, and using the Godfather font? Perfect.
