Obamateurism of the Day

Maybe it’s just because I went to a Tax Day Tea Party yesterday (of which more later), but this particular response from Barack Obama seems to have more than his normal quotient of arrogance and ignorance (via Dan Riehl and Allahpundit):

President Barack Obama said Thursday he’s amused by the anti-tax tea party protests that have been taking place around Tax Day.
Obama told a fundraiser in Miami that he’s cut taxes, contrary to the claims of protesters.

“You would think they’d be saying thank you,” he said.

Where did he say this? At a $30,400-per-plate fundraiser at the home of Gloria Estefan … far away from the crowd that supposedly needed to kiss the Presidential ring for his escalating taxes on the middle class in ObamaCare and in the earlier cigarette taxes he approved as part of the expansion of S-CHIP, among others. Meanwhile, he’s continuing to spend more than a trillion dollars a year than the government receives, which makes big tax hikes across the board the only other option to massive spending cuts — and Obama’s not proposing the latter. For that kind of arrogant nonsensical assertion, there’s really only one response, which is to thank Obama properly:

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at [email protected] with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.
