Video: Pawlenty wants to stop the spending, er, binge

I’ve known Tim Pawlenty for a while as Minnesota governor, and despite his national reputation as too laid-back for a tough fight, he knows how to deliver a political face-wash when he wants. This probably wasn’t one of those times, however. Pawlenty appeared on Greta van Susteren’s show to introduce his new website on fiscal restraint, which is called Stop the Spending Binge. That’s binge, mind you:

The person who clipped this obviously wants to play it as an attack on Nancy Pelosi in order to drum up sympathy for the Speaker.  However, it’s pretty obviously a dropped ‘n’ in binge, although South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut argued (incorrectly) that ‘bich’ is “Latin for generosity.”  Stop the Spending Generosity?  Mm-kay, that works, I suppose.

If Pelosi’s defenders want to make a ridiculous case like this, I’ll take it as an admission that Pelosi is the reason for the spending binge, and that she’s the one who needs to be stopped.  That sounds a lot less gratuitous an argument than arguing that Pawlenty meant to call Pelosi a name on TV.  Heck, even some Pawlenty doubters might like this clip for that reason, too.  In the meantime, visit Stop the Spending Binge and learn something, beeyo — er, never mind.
