Obamateurism of the Day

Last week, Chris Wallace told Bill O’Reilly that the current White House was “the biggest bunch of crybabies” he’d seen in his 30-year career. At the time, some dismissed that as sour grapes, after Barack Obama snubbed Fox News Channel for his “full Ginsburg” last Sunday. However, CNN discovered much the same thing after they booked author Christopher Andersen to discuss his new book about the Obamas, “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage” (via Cubachi and The Right Scoop):

A White House senior adviser was scheduled to appear on CNN’s “American Morning” this week, but the White House rescinded the offer after the network booked author Christopher Andersen. Andersen’s new book “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage,” is out today. …

During her interview with Anderson this morning, CNN’s Kiran Chetry said, “We reached out to the White House for a response to the book. They declined comment and made it known that they weren’t happy. In fact, they pulled an interview they had with a senior adviser once they learned you were on the show.”

How petty can they get? This is something one would expect to see in wars between talk-show hosts, not the leader of the Free World. Someone send a waaaaaaaahmbulance to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, please.

Got an Obamateurism of the Day? If you see a foul-up by Barack Obama, e-mail it to me at [email protected] with the quote and the link to the Obamateurism. I’ll post the best Obamateurisms on a daily basis, depending on how many I receive. Include a link to your blog, and I’ll give some link love as well. And unlike Slate, I promise to end the feature when Barack Obama leaves office.
