Arabs open fire on Israelis in Denmark

I’m certain this will raise the sympathy level for Gazans under fire in the Israeli-Hamas war:

A group of Arab youths opened fire Wednesday evening on a number of Israelis working at a mall in the Danish city of Odenza, some 200 kilometers north of Copenhagen.

The Israelis, who were operating a stall in the shopping center, were lightly wounded in their legs. There is no apparent danger to their lives. …

It is unclear whether the assailants have yet been arrested by Danish authorities. The Foreign Ministry believes that the attack was related to anger over Israel’s offensive on the Gaza Strip.

That might have been the proximate motivation for the gunfire, but Danes should know better than to assume that it’s only about Gaza.  The death threats against Danish newspaper editors weren’t just about a few editorial cartoons.  It’s about cultural terrorism, the advancement of Arab and Muslim interests through intimidation and attack.

Mere Rhetoric also notes that this attack takes place in a broader context in Denmark:

This is usually where I’d write something like “on the plus side this was probably just over exuberant anti-Zionism and had nothing to do with anti-Semitism.” But we’re talking about a country where “Jews are Allah’s enemies” is a popular protest chant…

… so there might actually have been a little bit of anti-Semitism involved.

Also, we don’t see roving bands of Jews in Denmark or anywhere else shooting at unarmed Arab merchants in shopping malls, either. That’s another point in context for this attack. Gateway Pundit has more.
