Hey, you know who should have moderated a debate? Bernard Goldberg

He had the same qualifications as Gwen Ifill, after all.  He’s been a reporter for decades, an opinionated observer on politics, and he had a book coming out in Inauguration Week about Barack Obama.  I’d bet Bernie would have at least let the campaigns know about the book before being selected, and recognized the conflict of interest.

Of course, the title might have been a little off-putting to the Commission on Presidential Debates: A Slobbering Love Affair: The True (And Pathetic) Story of the Torrid Romance Between Barack Obama and the Mainstream Media. That’s only slightly more indicative of bias than Ifill’s fawning title, The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama, and yet the CPD had no problem selecting Ifill as a moderator for the VP debate.

I’m looking forward to this release. Bernie literally wrote the book on Bias, a seminal book about the endemic liberal bias in the mainstream media. He hasn’t exactly mellowed since, and I’m certain this new book will be an entertaining read. Be sure to pre-order your copy now. With any luck, we’ll get Bernie for an interview here at Hot Air.
